My name is Jacob Kroeger and I am an Animator from the Kansas City Art Institute. I’ve loved animation all my life, from Avatar the Last Air Bender to Mayasaki’s Spirited Away, I always knew I wanted to be a part of the artistic world. Making awesome works of art and doing what I love is my dream. I am continually pushing myself to see what I am capable of creating. While I was working on my Bachelor in Fine Arts, I was also working and raising a daughter with my beautiful wife, whom I love so much. I believe this has been the perfect training ground for my future career.
I love the texture and energy that 2D animation brings. The ability to express stories is rivaled by no other medium. I also love using 3D tools and other technology to take 2D animated stories to the next level. I have many inspirations however, recently, Gendy Tartakovsky for his frame effectiveness and precise, satisfying action has resonated with me. Other inspirations include; Studio Mir, Powerhouse Animation, Mappa Studios, Cartoon Saloon and more. I am a huge One Piece fan and Batman will always be my favorite superhero!
I try to push the limits of not only myself but the animation medium. Exploring its capabilities while making art and animation that not only looks beautiful, but allows people to get lost in the story and the character despite them being lines on a canvas. I’m well-versed in Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboarder, and Autodesk Maya. I use Adobe products daily illustrating in Photoshop or editing my animations and projects in Premier Pro.
I hope that one day I can use my skills to help you make something amazing!
